FIRE HALL BOND SPECIAL ELECTION, JULY 30th 2019
WE NEED PARTICIPATION OF AT LEAST 30% OF THE ACTIVE VOTERS IN SOMERS-LAKESIDE DISTRICT FOR A VALID ELECTION. PLEASE, SUPPORT THIS BOND SO THAT WE, THE VOLUNTEER FIRE-FIGHTERS OF SOMERS AND LAKESIDE, CAN CONTINUE TO SERVE YOU TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY.

"WHAT IS THE BOND COST?"
The bond is for design, construction, engineering, equipping, and furnishing costs, up to four million dollars. The four million dollar debt will be paid in annual installments of $320,000. This bond does not cover replacing fire trucks and apparatus.
We understand the concern about any proposed tax increase. Our district has never requested a bond in the 60 years we have existed. The Volunteer Fire Fighters of Somers and Lakeside would not ask if it were not absolutely necessary for us to best serve YOU, the residents of our community.
"WHAT IS THE BOND COST TO THE DISTRICT TAX PAYER?"
The annual tax incurred by the bond will be based upon home value as follows (these numbers represent the bond tax only, they would be on top of current property fire taxes):
$50,000 home: $11.98 per year
$100,000 home: $23.96 per year
$200,000 home: $47.93 per year
$300,000 home: $71.89 per year
